The proposed building will help to address challenges of the existing campus, which has outgrown it's 4 existing buildings spread over several blocks in the Pacific Heights Neighborhood. Currently, STEM facilities are split between multiple buildings on campus. The California Campus will unite all of the STEM classrooms and faculty offices on a single floor. The existing gymnasium "The Devil Dome" no longer serves the needs of a thriving athletic program. The new Gymnasium will allow for multiple practice courts and a 650 seat competition court, which will also double as a venue for all-school meetings.  With the addition of the California Campus, access to food, administration, faculty, and community can be spread evenly across the 5 campuses unifying the character of the school and creating fertile ground for learning. The California Campus is targeting Net -Zero Energy, becoming a teaching tool for a sustainable future.
