In architecture—as in art—it’s important to pay careful attention to the materials.
My degree is in art, and I have a particular interest in sustainability and the materials we use. Even the kind of glue you use matters. In my own artwork, I fuse plastic shopping bags together to make a kind of textile. The architects here really consider the meaning of materials before they use them, whether it’s making window screens out of solar panels or specifying reclaimed wood.
