Plaza Apartments

The Plaza Apartments in San Francisco was the first new permanent housing for formerly homeless residents; located in the South of Market neighborhood, the affordable housing complex achieves a sustainable goal of being certified LEED Silver and includes supportive services for residents.

The result of an innovative public housing program initiated by the City of San Francisco, the Plaza Apartments provides permanent, dignified housing with on-site health and social services for 106 chronically homeless people.

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s evolving Sixth Street redevelopment area, this environmentally responsible, mixed-use development is intended to serve the cities neediest and lowest income residents. The Plaza is the first newly constructed property fully dedicated to the San Francisco Health Department’s Direct Access to housing program and serves as a new national model for green supportive housing.
